Primordial

an ecological music composition engine

The life and death drama of sexually-frustrated sea-monkeys visually rendered in the style of Russian Suprematism, imbued with the ghost of Igor Stravinsky, and with a dash of medieval French music theory thrown in for good measure. Primordial is an interactive art installation that generates free-form musical compositions in response to the biological conquests of abstract organisms--survival of the fittest, where fitness is predicated upon the innate musical properties of the always-hungry ever-proliferating dots. 

Primordial is a two-part beast: I built the ecological simulation in Processing (Java) and the music engine/MIDI sequencer in Pure Data.
